2. Jan Jelinek Jelinek's works deal with the transformation of sounds, translating source materials from popular music into abstract, reduced textures. He constructs collages using tiny sound fragments from a wide variety of recording devices: tape recorders, digital samplers, media players and the like. The recordings are processed into repetitive loops that boil the original down to its essentials.

Made up of hyper-artificial clicks, pops, whirrs and thumps, Jan Jelinek's LP sounds about as jazzy as Throbbing Gristle's 20 Jazz Funk cethischillbinderbandinadar.xyzinfo their original review of the record, Pitchfork described the title as "meaningless" and "a joke," allowing that "some of the noises here may well have been sourced from Author: Will Lynch.

7. In the 15+ years that have elapsed since 'Loop Finding Jazz Records' first shuffled out of his ambrosially dusty speakers, Jan Jelinek's most famous album has acquired an almost mythical status. Originally released via Pole's defunct Scape imprint, it now finds new life via Jelinek's own Faitiche label, for a new generation to marvel at one of the finest examples of loop-based electronic music.

I mean an ambient album sure is quiet and sometimes repetitive but it still keeps you interested and that is the whole point of this genre.
